Dammit, I was cold today..we went to try the new pizza place upper crust and I couldn't think of wearing anything but my TOPSHOP fur coat, with jeans, because I couldn't care less, I only wanted to stay warm! and the funny thing is I didn't even take it off once, not even while eating! was realllly cold.

I lost 4 kilos btw, yep I'm thrilled, sickness can be of use sometimes..

I just love kate moss so much! she can manage to look chic and cool in anything!

Good "frosty" morning! it's freezing outside and here I am curled in my couch all cosy with a cuppa coffee and all I can think of is ..well I can't think of anything but I thought I'd blog it's been a long time!

I wore my moschino velvet blazer a coupla weeks ago with my new work of art "the boots", fendi peekaboo bag and urban outfitters belt..

I love my booties, you know why? becuz I'm the only one in the world who owns these :p how am I sure? becuz I used my own crayons to...draw things on the booties ahem, okay my mom thought I was crazy but at least they came out beautiful! (I daren't say who makes these, it'll be disrespectful for the designer and I'll prolly get hate mail :p)

helloo!! wow it's really been a long time since I last posted and I've to say I miss this blog.., I've been really busy with college and everything, and did I mention that I loove winter?? which reminds me! merry christmas to all those who celebrate it!! I love christmas trees, everytime I spot one I go take a picture with it;p (loser!)... anyway my friends and I went to zee burger the new restaurant which is located in the palms today to celebrate christmas eve ;p not really we just wanted an excuse to eat.

I wore a red checkered shawl (forever 21), my fave topshop jeans, kurt geiger feathery boots and a vintage clutch from italy by an italian designer I'm not really familiar with..

on another note, I've finally read the forgotten garden by Kate morton and I've to say, wow! loooved it..I loved the mystery and the characters especially Eliza makepeace the authoress! I recommend this book to everyone!

I also read christmas eve at friday harbor (finished it in a day), it's a perfect holiday history and I loove reading holiday stories in winter, they make this season simply more magical <3

my holiday comfort reads.., my friends make fun of me allll the time becuz I adore romance novels, what can I say I'm a hopeless romantic and life between these pages is a splendid place to be especially in winter ;p

back to fashion.., Obviously I can't stop wearing these feathery ankle booties, they're definately my new fave shoes..

The other day we went to try out vinny's the new restaurant in 52 degrees...the kinder pread budding was out of this world! you all need to try it (if you're planing to gain weight :) ), yours trully has gained so much weight she's actually starting to look like a whale. and the cold weather's not helping at all!! on another fatty note, I love shawarma, habity elyideeda ghetto shawarma la7am o cocktail juice. with a bag of cheese sambousa on the side mmm..no I'm never gonna lose weight. anyway I'm currently reading Alexander: child of a dream by valerio massimo manfredi. if you know me too well you'd know how much I love alexander the great, he's one of my fave historical figures.., I've read so many books about him but nothing came as good as this one..it's mind-grabbing and never boring, I can't put it down!( if you have a goodreads.com account, send it at my email thezuzza@gmail.com or mention it in the comment box and I'll add you as a friend! )

what I read in november:

1-the girl with glass feet by ali shaw: an adult european fairytale, which was really good at the begining but then it got really slow and boring, the ending was so sad however and I found myself shedding a couple of tears.

2- the metamorphosis by franz kafka: it's an enjoyable and really sad short classic, I reread it and still has the same effect on me. I recommend this book to everyone of all ages.

3- the duke and I by julia quinn: a smart and funny regency romance which I enjoyed emmensly. I love historical romance novels too much, they're like candy! addictive and enjoyable and I can't have enough of them. anyway the book was a bit sad but I loved the ending and the hero was oh so sexy.

I usually read five books per month but I got really busy with college and everything, and this week I have two midterms on the same day *sigh* I can't wait to graduate and have a full year off...

I guess mr bill blass would be very proud of me for wearing red for two days in a row! I'm not a big fan of the color yet something about a red coat makes me go koko!! I just love red coats they're as essential as black ones!

Lonely Eid

This Eid is soo lonely! everyone's travelling and we're the only ones staying in kuwait (I think..) mom and dad are also out of town! unfair I know!, the good part is the weather..it's gorgeous mashallah..anyway today F, G and I (the only ones staying in town)had our lunch in Pizetta and then we had a cup of coffee and our all time fave tiramisu in lorenzo. I can say that we really enjoyed our time and we were actually COLD ;p!! I know right!!

yesterday my beautiful auntie J threw a birthday party for her seven year old zuzu. We had a blast! I turned to a well dressed clown and enjoyed it :p the kids were thrilled, I think I'll consider that as a future career..;p

I wore a emilio pucci blouse (it's originally a dress but I tucked it in my full skirt), h&m skirt, urban outfitters belt and christian louboutin peep toe booties. I let my hair down and straight, put on really gorgeous smokey eyeshadow (it took some time..) and nude lipstick.

I don't have a decent picture :/ my hair is showing in all my pictures!! I had to crop crop and crop and this is the result :p SAD!!

I couldn't celebrate my birthday friday since I had a really important midterm and I needed to study.., You can imagine how depressed I was, I mean really how can one spend the entire day in a cafe studying for a shitty midterm on one's birthday! so anyway I've spent the entire day studying and then when I finally went back home I was in the verge of tears min elka2aba! so I opened my bedroom's door and TADAAA!! look what I found! I was more than surprised! I didn't expect it at all!! my best friends' surprise worked this time ;p

I saw this and played the video and then ...waterworks happened ;p :'(.. the most beautiful pictures of my bestie and I in a slide show with music and everything, it was beauuuutiful!

I've been wanting a new cover duvet forever! and never had the time to shop for one, my two gorgeous friends L and N got me a very delightful new cover and bed sheets,I LOOOOVED IT!

today we celebrated my birthday at Izakaya the new japanese restaurant in bida'a, the food was okay but the staff were extremly nice and they let us book the entire restaurant for us.

He let out a sigh. It was going to be a long night. He was reluctantly dragged along to the huge event by his younger sister, his young sweet sister. He didn't have it in his heart to deny her, besides he knew fully well that he was going to be introduced to a handful of the prettiest, best dressed girls in society, only he didn't realize those girls would be too young and would compete quite brazenly to gain his attention.He was exchanging superficial, unpersonal words with a young pretty aritst who happened to be one of his sister's eager girlfriends. She knew his full name and his influence in this affair yet she kept questions and pretending to be surprised to know his real identity, he was bored with the typical act yet he couldn't complain. She was one fine woman.

He nodded and pretended to admire one of her confusing artworks. She blushed slightly and continued talking about her painting. He gave her long five minutes of his time and then he excused himself for a drink he didn't need. He loosened his tie and almost ran his way out of the ballroom and into the deserted balcony that overlooked the pool area. Much to his luck, it was empty of guests.The solitude proved irresistible. He lit a ciggarette and took a long drag. He only wanted to steal a few precious minutes of blissful quiet before someone came looking for him.

He knew solitude in a place like this was too good to be true when he heard the sound of clacking heels against the surface of the balcony. He cursed under his breath,forced a smile and turned around to face the lady in the heels. much to his surprise she wasn't coming towards him, in fact she was holding a smart phone between her fingers, her head bowed and she was frowning, she didn't even notice his presence. She stood against the balcony railings and continued texting.

Her hair was a golden brown just like the rest of the girls inside there, only it was unsually longer, the curls and waves fell bellow her tiny waist he noticed with the corner of his eye. She was dressed in a silk long sleeved white shirt that didn't show any flesh, tucked in a black tafetta high waisted skirt that ended below her ankle. And then came the shoes. It was the most extraordinary shoes he'd ever seen. so sparkly and big, so big, they didn't fit her small ,delicate legs.other than her sparkly shoes she didn't wear any accesories, oh except for a couple of tiny diamond stud earrings, he now noticed.But it wasn't her glorious hair or her delicate features that captured his attention. It was the fact that she looked just like a little girl wearing her mother's grown up clothes. He lit another cigarette and continued watching her now with growing interest.

She felt someone watching her. She stiffened, confused by the feeling of insecurity and danger that swept over her , then she slowly turned around to face the threat. A very well dressed gentleman was looking at her, that was the first thing she noticed, of course he looked away emmediatly, feigning innocene. His navy tuxedo hugged his powerful body in all the right places, it was obviously custom made for him. impressive.

The wind carried the heady smell of masculine perfume and smoke her way. She shuddered. She hated the smell of ciggaretes yet for some reason this one was almost pleasant. Almost..

He watched her for a good long while and when she didn't react he decided to make his presence known. "hi.."

"hey" She said, sounding breathless.

"are you by any chance hiding from someone?" He asked, giving her a brief smile.

She smiled politely. " no, are you?"

"why would you think that?" Now he was grinning from ear to ear, his eyes twinkling.

She didn't understand him. "I'm sorry? I mean uh um I didn't think you wear hiding, ..forget it"

He laughed ;a low throaty laugh,the sound delighted her.

" who are you?" He asked. "let me guess, an artist?"

" I um work in fashion.., a stylist" She lied.

His eyes drifted back to her shoes. They were enormous on a girl so slim, so furious so sparkly!

"hmm interesting, what do people call you?"

"hmmm they call me Aphrodite, like the goddess" She mocked, imitating him.

He took a step toward her and she instinctively took a step back.

He knew she was lying, he was boss here, and he didn't recognize her. " you've such a mysterious air about you" He said. "deliberate, isnt it?"

" mysterious? of course, you don't even know me" She was begining to get annoyed by this stranger.

" It's sexy"

Truth is he'd felt off balance from the moment he'd first looked at her. He vowed not to leave this place without knowing her full name or her phone number. screw it all, he wanted both. He made a mental note to ask his sister about this interesting little woman.

Her shoulders shook with mirth, this man was so weird, crazed! yet for some reason it didn't feel so strange. At all.

" you gave me the impression that you are a gentleman, boy I was wrong!" She said, contradicting her words with laughter.

" I don't care, min ziman 7a6 3ainy 3lech"

" liar..I've never seen you before!"

He took a couple of steps closer to her, this time she didn't try to move away.

He stood before her, their hands almost touching. "sim3ay, I'm having the strongest..hmm whats the word..ee infatuation. This is new to me, let's go get married"

She giggled. " mi9akhaaaa, how old are you?"

" I'm serious, I think I wanna marry you, don't say no no"

She laughed, interrupting him "No you didn't just quote Bruno mars! thats soo cheesy"

" ga3id a'3aneelich, plz say yes..do you want me to kneel down on one knee and.."

"you're pushing it!" She snapped.

"I want you, and I want... erm that finger of yours is terribly bare, I want to decorate it with something as sparkly and big as your shoes." He said, staring at her hands shamelessly.

"fara'3aa.." She complained, melting a little bit in the inside. Just a bit..

He smiled. " You don't wanna know how serious I am, I'll give you a week to think about it, 7 full days...and now excuse me I've an errand to attend to..goodnight beautiful"

She stopped dead in her tracks, wide eyed..speechless and very very flattered..

I have a confession to make..I'm too scared to go to the gyno, wayid awaswis I don't know why.., I don't even know how the "procedure" goes..I know it's different and much easier for you know..unmarried girls, oh god this is soo embarrasing. Mom got me an appointment with aunt's husband who's a well known excellent gyno, but I don't wanna go :s it's embarrasing! I think I'd be more comfortable with a female doctor, I cancelled my appointment today because mom couldn't come with me, I can't go alone, mi5tar3a 7dyy, and I can't avoid the gyno forever, I have this common female problem, its no big deal really, though it needs treatment and I need to go to the gyno to fix it, I agreed to go next week but I'm going with my friends :p, 7asha soug mu 6abeeb :|, why can't I just go to the drugstore and get me some pills? :/ huff

what if they asked me embarrasing questions? I'm a terribly shy person wain awaddy waihy? :P ya7asratna, talking about this makes my face hot ! hal noba aroo7 ashky 7g a complete stranger?!

This look was inspired by the movie coco before chanel, which tells the story of the great gabrielle "coco" chanel. I absolutely loved the movie, it was so sad and artistic and I specially loved the last scene when they showed coco (audrey tautou) in a gorgeous chanel suit in her own fashion show and her models looked equally chic in different chanel outfits,it was beautiful!

I had such a crappy sunday morning, starting with the horrible traffic jam, to my car's AC which decided to get really smelly :'( it smelled like a dead cat and I was stuck in traffic so there was nothing to do but turn it off and suffer!! dad thinks I commited murder :/ , he said and I quote: " zuz enti da3ma ga6wa wil ga6wa bi makeena bla bla".

to top it all off, I was late to my very important class, climbed the stairs in HIGH HEELS and almost passed out :| (note to self: must go back to the gym ASAP!)

I was in the crappiest of moods when I went to pick up my iced latte and study for my quiz..and then THEN the nicest thing in the world happened and my mood was emmediatly changed! it really did make my day <3 ..I looove today ;p

ps: sister's best friend got married last friday <3 she looked absolutely gorgeous in her white gown, I got so emotional I almost wept :/

yesterday morning I woke up to the sound of Richard clayderman's love story, yes my heart almost stopped but I recovered in 2 minutes and literally hugged my alarm o'clock! it brought so many childhood memories! dad was so cool back in the days ;p in his convertible and his raybans hehe I remmeber it so clearly, he used to pick me up from kinder garten and allow me to ride the car with him while playing love story hehe, 7abeebi <3..., so this heart shaped 3 year old topshop bag (which I've never worn before and don't think I'll ever wear again) was the perfect accesory for my happy outfit! I was meeting the girls for a late lunch and they loved the bag emmensly, actually one of my friends thought it was moschino!

and ofcourse I can not post without featuring my girls <3

helloo! I am currently reading the book turned movie I don't know how she does it. it's funny and fast paced butI find it a bit strange since I'm not..well a mommy! I think it'd be a great, fun read for working mothers..., anyway I can't wait to watch the movie specially that one of my fave fashion icons sarah jessica parker stars in it!

on another note I absolutely loved the way ashley olsen wore her beaded necklace, across her body! take a look at the picture bellow...

I was totally inspired! so yesterday when my friends (L and E) and I went to pick up fro-yo's for dinner I put on my bf jeans and threw a long orange cardi over my tank top (looked really boring) so I took mom's vintage gold beads and wore em across my body just like ashley, surprisingly it didn't slide off my shoulder!

This week is a very important week to yours trully, because for one my best friend in the world turned 22 this sunday! and for two my other best friend just turned 22 today I mean er yesterday..,so anyway last satuarday friends and I got together for sushi and then great coffee and we had a blast! sushi is such a happy food! and I need to diet :/ this week hasn't been really helpful to the diet (ay diet?) and white pants look really horrible on me!! though everyone tell me you have nice legs (I know! how can short people have nice legs?) so anyway those nice legs are not so nice anymore, white pants are so evil! I won't ever wear white jeans again unless I lose 20 pounds! I'm serious, I look fat in each and every picture!

Dubai+Mr porter

hellooo! I'm back! I've been to beautifuuul dubai! I'm so in love with the city I already miss it! 8 days were simply not enough! the shopping was fab! and don't get me started on the food and everything else! and the people were sooo nice! everyone kept telling me how beautiful and stylish I looked! yazeenhom zenaah! even european people! we stayed in atlantis the palm which was a bit far from shopping malls and stuff but we had our own car so everything was easy el7emdella... we did our tanning in a nice private pool, got to see the super duper cute dolphins and my 53 year old dad wants to buy a ferrari :| (dont ask).

*I liked dubai mall best! bloomingdale's felt like heaven and all those boutiques...I just couldn't stop smiling!! (I'll show you everything I got later!)

*I need to get back to dieting, I gained 2 kilos !!

*my skin is super soft min ler6ooba!!

*I want to buy a beach house in jumeira :(

you know what's really annoying? salons!!! shd3wa elza7maa??? this morning I went to the salon with bestie and was really shocked when I saw the number of people in there!! it was 8 am for god's sake!! 8!! I fail to understand why anyone would wake up this early to do I don't know what in a salon! while you should be sleeping or having breakfast or something! I only wanted to have my eyebrows done, you know becuz that's like a...sacred human right! I eventually had them done but the whole thing was really frustrating, girls need to understand that salon gabl el 3eed eb yom is NOT a tradition!you can look nice and clean in ramadan okay? the same rule applies to za7mat eljam3eyaat gabl ermuthan, it's not like you're going to starve to death!

eBay+ a game of thrones

I'm soo excited I'm actually shaking while typing!! why didn't anybody tell me?! why didn't I know that ebay.com was this awesome!! the other day I borrowed brother's laptop and ebay homepage was opened, out of curiousity I typed: vintage hermes and clicked on search, I was shocked! I was amaaazed! the most unusual bags appeared and I just..., anyway since then I've turned into an ebay addict! I've simply searched for everything, I even found that swarovski encrusted christian louboutin which originally cost 1,777 KD for much less! I'm not a big fan of swarovski encrusted anything but when I tried those shoes on in the boutique I literally went speechless! they were phenomenal, exquisite..pricy..*sigh*.., and a limited edition (rare) balenciaga!

so far I want 22 bags, 13 pair of shoes and erm..a couple of..ahm..things. I know I need to take a deep breath and narrow down my choices but I just can't make my mind!! oh and you get to sell things too, I know it's been there for ages but I never really used it and now I feel like I discovered a new planet! its just so awesome! I'm a big fan of vintage and rare items and ebay offers alot of these!

on another note, I'm currently reading A game of thrones (book 1) by George R.R martin and I'm hooked! I'm sure lots of you heard of the tv series, I'm totally watching it after finishing the book! you should read the book too if you're interested in the series..

Ever since I was a little adorable thing, I used to always ALWAYS get my way. I know the image I just painted sounds like a..ahem spoiled brat, but I was not.., mother being the sweetest thing in the world didn't have it in her to say no to us. The woman wanted a quite, drama free life ba3ad you cannot possibly blame her ;p, so anyway back when I was a 6 year old, I remember mom taking me to my favorite toy store to buy a toy for her friend's child. earlier that week I threw a fit because I wanted the new winter sports barbies (wallah lel7een athkirhom kanaw 7ilweeen! and they were all the rage for lil girly girls like myself) and I wanted winter sport ken :x, anyway my mom got them all for me and I was very happy and I promised not to nag for another barbie doll (ge6ee3a kanat 6eenty yahad), elmohim before we entered the store mom made me promise not to look at dolls and I remember saying " wallah el3atheem mara7 ashtry barbie"..ee 7alaft. I was trying hard not to look at the beloved barbie shelves but my legs betrayed me and I found myself staring directly at a brown haired winter sport barbie!!! I didn't know there was a brown haired one! 6ab3an nesait el7ilf o 6irttt 3nd elmagrooda ommy, so yes you guessed it right, I got the barbie. ( lo binty etswy chethy chan 6raaaag, wallah mama ma3rifatly)

16 years later

It is true that I always have my way except for a couple of unfortuante incidents...

incident no1: zuz walks into one of her favorite department stores, spots these gorgeous pair of Camilla skovgaard pumps, tries them on and have this sudden urge that if she dosen't buy them right this very minute she'll DIE! 6ab3an life's hard and you don't always get what you want (but of course you do, nothing's impossible)...anyway, best friend was with me in the store and she wasn't supportive at all!!!!!!!!!!!! my own best friend thinks the shoes are nothing special and that I have a million other black shoes and that I don't need them :), she said and I QUOTE! " zuz, basich jowaty kellish mala ma3na 3indich alf wa7id lel7een mo labsat'hom! o hatha 7adda 3ady nothing special, be reasonable!" so I pretend to be convinced, take a picture of the shoes and post on twitter..guess what? friends thought it was " weird", "lady gaga's shoes!" , " nay!", " fee a7la" etc etc...., but I still find it absolutely gorgeous :'( I even pictured myself wearing it with a white T shirt, my new perfectly fitted skinny jeans and those geeky chic sunglasses...

no I didn't buy them, but not because everyone thought it wasn't beautiful (esh3arafhom), the reason behind it is much bigger and shocking! mother refused to give me my money!! my own money, e7jizat 3leeeeh :p , becuz suddenly she feels that I spend alot, the shoes are ugly and I need spending discipline. faj2aa!! my sweet, gentle mother became soo cruel and mean!!

I am tormented. everyone's on mom's side! they think I'm a crazed shopaholic who needs thearapy :), even my sister who's so much like me. only kinda, sorta, maybe more rational.. Ok I confess, I have a problem, but I was born with it!! there's a difference between sister and I! when she was a kid all she cared about were toys and the usual children concerns, bs with time she learned to love to shop and dress up.. I on the other hand always wanted to shop.I have it on my genes! it's a genetic problem.., ofcourse I played and stuff but I loooved shopping with mom, it was always so pleasant, it was always just the two of us (since big sis hated "soug" and lil sis was too young), we'd try on nice clothes and mom would make-up shop and I was always too eager to put on lipstick and then we'd sit in a cafe and..*sigh* those were the days...

A genetic problem

when I was a kid , grandparents were my fave people in the world, kint kella em6ay7a 3indhom, so one day I was sitting with grandpa when grandma came and told him all about this new bag she liked so much and "need" to have. grandpa lectured her, and said so many not very nice things about her addiction and that she already got the purse she "needed"earlier that month and then grandma looked offended and called my aunt and told her all about the bag and that she tried to ignore it but she dreamt about it and it's getting out of hand so aunt took her shopping and she came home all happy and glowing with the new handbag.

when I turned 11, in the summer vacay grandma and I were shopping for coats and granma spotted this GORGEOUS fur trimmed coat which was way over priced, she made me feel it up, it was super soft and nice, she had to have it! so she called mom telling her to come and have a look, mom and grandma (dad's mother) are really close, it's so adorable really, so mom gave grandma her honest opinion that it's not worth it bla bla, grandma put on a show that she was convinced and then after lunch she took me to the store again and was like: zuz sim3ay ana bashtry el coat la2na ma3ndy romady, bs latgoleen 7g yaddich, enzain?...I never told him ;p

el7een gumt afham shu3oor yadity allah e7afith'ha, I'm so like her, everyone says so, 7ta oboy kella egool zuz chinha ommy :p, so you see its in the genes!! they can't punish me for that!!

Okay I understand mom, she thinks I have so many clothes and that I need to stop shopping ( who needs to stop shopping anyway? :s), and that I'm old enough to know how to shop wisely (which I am! really..) and that I need to save money for my mashroo3, mom can be so boring sometimes, anyway I need to show her that I learned my lesson (whatever that is) becuz I need to have my credit card back...or else!!

a life changing experience II

He greeted her with a big grin on his face. the man was happy. positive energy radiated from every inch of his big body. She was not. she was disgusted and confused and scared and she wanted him out of her way, no, she didn't want anything to do with him.

unfortunately the sinner had other plans. He stayed close by the entire day, although she rarely uttered a word to him. The book store was getting cleaner and nicer by the hour, she vacuumed the floor, wiped the dust off the shelves and removed each and every book with the help of him. He tried to start conversation and joke with her but she didn't relent, she kept her scowl and distance.

the next couple of days were the same, she said her hello and continued working alone, also keeping her distance, she thought he got the message that she wanted a little to do with him and was relieved. the next day she came a little late, with a medium caribou papercup in her hand and high spirits because she was well aware that he volunteered to work only 3 days in the week, which meant she didn't have to deal with his hateful presence today.

To her utter surprise he was there. All smiley and relaxed.

The sight of her amused him. he studied her boldly from head to toe, today they were going to paint the walls and there she was wearing a nice looking leather biker jacket, perfectly fitted jeans and nice boots, also she was wearing lipstick!

" I thought you only worked 3 days a week" she said dully.

" today we paint. I couldn't miss the fun" He said cheerfully.

the fun? "paint? isn't too early for that?"

" it is actually too late" He said mockingly, flashing his big white teeth. The devil in disguise..

" I can do the painting all by myself if you're.." He lowered his gaze to her shiny, gold studded boots.

"No, I want to paint" She gave him a cold brief stare before turning her head away.

" I fully understand that you dont like me, really, though I can't imagine why" he said, the edge in his voice was hard to miss, she was appalled.

"excuse me?" she turned, her heart in her throat.

" are you always like that with people? all agressive and unfriendly?"

she was speechless.

He was surprised by her reaction, she looked hurt. " I'm sorry if I insulted you, let's start working, shall we?"

He left her standing there with that look of hurt on her face and went to fetch the paint.

she stood still for a moment, all flushed and stunned. did he just apologize for telling the truth? She disliked him immensley yet he apologized for her own feelings. She was confused.

He injured her pride. Oh pride, sinful, deadly pride. yet she ignored the unpleasant feeling, swallowed her pride and went to help.

The sky blue paint was powerful in smell and rich in color. She loved it and learned that it was Prometheus's choice. The color symbolized trust, intellegence, loyalty and wisdom. interesting..

He was right, painting the walls was fun, she admitted grudgingly. It was such a liberating experience, she'd never painted a wall her whole life, the simplicity and purity of the task soared her spirits. It was like meditation which she adored very much, giving attention to every little movement, every little detail, it was beautiful.

He was using the usual roller brush while she used a sponge to add a sophisticated effet to the walls.An hour later they were both exhausted and needed a break, he sat down on the floor.

"No, I'm not" she suddenly said.

"I'm sorry?"

" I'm...nice"

He smiled, sardonically. " I'm sure you are"

" I just..dislike you, specially"

"thanks, may I know why?"

"you really want to know?"

He nodded, exasperated.

"it's about a certain book you were reading"

He looked at her blankly and repeated "book? what book?"

But then he saw the vivid disgust in her face and understood. The ignorant litte...

" It's my business. You don't even know me to judge me" He said.

"I know enough, and don't pretend to be the better person , I can see that you don't like me from those horrible stares of yours, you keep staring at my shoes and my..my..7jaab and my clothes!"

" I stare because you dress nicely"

she rolled her eyes. " I never knew the likes of you have a likeness for the conservating way of dressing"

He didn't argue.

"so you're not denying it? you really are an atheist? you really don't believe in god? aren't you afraid of hell? "

" aren't you? I'm sorry but you don't look very religious to me, last time I checked, muslim girls had to cover their bodies from head to toe in big, ugly looking abaya's, you're not-"

" you're such an ass! you have no right to tell me what's right and what's wrong!, who do you think you are?!"

"see? you don't like it when people judge you"

The bastard!!

" I don't want to have this conversation with you" Her voice shook with fury.

He chuckled. " you're the one who started it. fine"

"Fine!"

In her haste to get away from the bastard, she dipped her foot in the metallic paint container, let out a loud gasp and dropped the paint brush from her palm on her beloved christian louboutin boots, the hateful brush landed hard on the other pair, splashing baby blue paint over the richness of black.

There was stunned silence, unshed tears, fury and supressed laughs.

" you must be glad" Her voice broke.

" I'm not, I liked the shoes. Why don't you sit down and let me take a look, I might help"

In that moment of desperation and humiliation she saw no other choice but to obey. She sat beside him on the smudged floor.

"this is definately not my day"

" who says it is not?"

"are you being nice to me?"

" you're having a difficult day" He winked.

She rolled her eyes. The guy was shameful.

she wanted to ignore him but she couldn't possibly ignore the nagging curiousity and the strong urge to ask questions." why did you stop believing in god? aren't you afraid of him?"

"I don't believe in your god to be afraid of him, god is a delusion"

She clamped her hand over her mouth, her eyes watering. " My god? he's everyone's god! esta'3ferallah, I feel sorry for you, you weren't born an atheist were you?"

" no, but you were born a muslim, in a muslim family and if you were born in a christian family you'd be a christian. got it?"
" NO! I don't understand"

" you're brain washed"

" excuse me? you're the one who's talking like a maniac, el7emdella yarabbi I'm sane enough to know what's right and what's wrong, you say you don't believe in god, then who created us? why are we here? to die? then what's the purpose of living anyway? what about afterlife? you don't believe in that too do you?"

" give me a good reason why I should believe, life is material NOT supernatural, and definately not spiritual.."

" oh really? spirituality is part of every human being's life you smart ass, I respect all religions at least they believe in a great..divine immortal being, unlike some-"

" thought so, you can never provide me with good reasons for believing in your god, I need facts, reasons! not silly talk of supernatural nonesense"

A tear trickled down her cheek. " hathy min 3alamat el sa3a" She almost whispered to herself but he heard her and rolled his eyes.

" look, I don't mean to upset you or anything, but this is my business, don't force your own religion on me, don't even try to persuade me to believe in a non-existent god, because for 3 long years I searched for evidece and found none!"

If only I could put sense into him! she thought angrily.

" you want reasons? fine, I'll give you reasons" She said." are you aware of the complexity and perfection of our planet earth? every little detail shows that a great designer did all of it, what about the human brain? you lack brains so you wouldn't understand-"

His sharp bark of laughter interrupted her train of thoughts. " you little witch"

" what about gravity? the sea? why is it that the laws of nature never change? it's like our universe is obeying some unspoken rules! god has surrounded us with evidence of himself everywhere Prometheus, why can't you see it?"

" Aglaia, dear, I am a rational person"

" the hell you are!" She snapped. she was all riled up yet he was so incredibly calm, she loathed him.

" you forgot about your precious shoes"

what?! " are you gay?"

" what?! No."

" hah! why are you offended?"

" I'm not offended" He frowned.

She smiled mischeviosly. " never mind"

she wasn't only ignorant, she was also a racist, that sickened him.
he just gave her a strong weapon, without realising it, she smiled with victory, the guy was every inch a traditional man, she could easily put sense into him, she could save him.

He could easily alter her way of thinking. He saw the simplicity of how her brain worked, he could easily conquer her." so you're convinced of your religion and the existence of your god and all that?"
she nodded fiercly.
" and 3la goltich, you respect other religions, like christianity and buddism?"

" yes"

" specially buddhism?" he smiled.

" what the hell are you talking about?"

" you forgot something yesterday, a certain "to-do-list" you wrote alot about karma, meditation and stuff..."

She wanted to shout at him, hit him and wipe that hateful grin off of his face with a decent punch, yet she took a deep breath and said calmly. " meditation has nothing to do with buddhism, and this discussion is over, let's get back to work"

" then you're going to accept my challenge" He said.

" what challenge?" she asked suspiciously.

" for the next week I'm going to give you books to read, you need to read them with an open mind, and in return I'll accept whatever you want me to do to persuade me into believing of your god, deal?"

"why would you want me to do that?"

"just to prove a point. I'll read or um.. practice whatever you ask of me, but you have to accept the challenge first, you are sure of yourself aren't you"

" yes I am!!" She said a little loudly. " and I accept your challenge!" She was willing to challenge for the sake of proving him wrong, yet a small part of her was filled with fear and uncertainty.

He chuckled. " then it starts today, I'll give you a book and you are to read it today, with an OPEN mind and..heart."

They spent the rest of the day, working and talking, alot. It was surprising how easily she could talk with him, inspite of the vast difference of personalities and thoughts, it was refreshing to her and at the same time disturbing.

The amount of contradicting emotions he stirred in her left her exhausted mentally, she used every ounce of will and resistence in her being to block the evil, vile thoughts he fed her.

Later that night, she went to bed early, the night light was on and the book of sins was in full display, waiting to be picked up from her night stand. With shaking hand she picked it up and read the title " the God delusion by Richard Dawkins"

life changing experience I

An old, dusty book store that lacked books was like the perfect place she could ever volunteer to work in. to be surrounded by the heady smell of books she adored so much and the false sense of achievement she constantly felt while doing volunteer work (specially in winter) was like the perfect reward in a college stressful day. Besides her new "life changing" to-do list required that she volunteer. Her things-to-do-before-you-die lists were usually useless and she got bored of them even before doing any of the things listed but this time she wanted to make a change, she wanted difference and something new to do before spring break.

She was surprised by the bad condition of the store and the books, the space was great and it has so much potential yet it was abandoned, it was sad how people paid little attention to reading these days. The indian manager gave her the keys and informed her that someone was to work with her three days in the week. Some time alone between the walls of this abandoned store was a very nice idea. She explored the old, faded books, read a page here and there and then went to get coffee. This was technichally all her's, the manager was away and the owner knew her well enough to trust her with the old store.

On the ride to the nearest starbucks, she contemplated the change she wanted to do for the store and being the dreamy, unrealistic girl that she was, she thought about so many unrealistic changes like transforming the store into something as fancy as borders and even better. Ofcourse that required lots of money and great effort, and she possesed neither since she was only a student and the store wasn't her's, but she was too absorbed in her fantasy world that she did not give much thought to the more important real life.

When she parked in front of the store, she was sure she locked the store yet the lights were on. Her heart sank , she locked her car and ran inside the store. afterall it was her responsibility to take care of the place. To her utter surprise there was someone else inside and he wasn't the indian manager. The man sitting behind the small counter with a book between his hands looked local, a local guy with a dusty book between his hands. impressive, she thought.

Sensing her presence, he closed the book and stood up. Around 6 feet 2 inches tall man in gray oversized sweater and faded sweat pants in navy. not very impressive. he looked rugged.

" you here for volunteer work?"

She nodded. " my name is Aglaia"

" Prometheus, I'll be working with you 3 days in the week." they introduced themselves and he made an impression that he wanted to play boss. so typical from a guy, specialy a kuwaiti one..

The differences between the two were obvious to any pair of strange eyes. He represented the laid back, free spirited guy who didn't care for the way he dressed yet looked every inch handsome and desirable.She on the other hand was perfectly tanned from last summer, dressed in black boyfriend blazer, simple white tee, a pair of skinny blue jeans, one of her designer flat boots and her cotton hijab. She wore her 7jaab in that way most kuwaiti girls did these days and being a straight male, he took a good look at her and decided she wasn't his type at all, for one she was covering her hair with that hateful fabric, and no matter how simply she dressed, the effort she put into looking neat was noticeable, no she wasn't his type at all.

Five minutes later they started working. two completely different strangers who didn't know eachother and didn't necessarily liked one another, volunteered to work for the same purpose.

There was a variety of english and arabic books, some translated to spanish and french and they needed days to sort them out.

two hours later she was tired and hungry. He on the other hand didn't complain. she wasn't one to feel comfortable around new people easily so she avoided speaking to him. sun flower seeds turkey sandwitch was what she craved, along with freshly brewed black coffee..mmm that sounded perfect right that very minute.

As if he was reading her mind he asked. " arent you hungry? "

She blushed and nodded. She rarely spoke and rarely smiled. he noticed and she also tired easily.Working with this kind of too shy too sophisticated for work person was proving to be difficult. Why did she volunteered to work in an old book store? she didn't seem like a girl who read the daily newspaper, let alone a book. That puzzled him.

the next day, she headed to the store right after class. She spotted Prometheus in the same position as the earlier day, sitting behind the counter with a book in his hand, only this time she could read the title of the book, with disbelieving eyes she read the offensive words written on the cover of the book: Godless: How an Evangelical Preacher Became One of America's Leading Atheists.

godless!! Atheism!!

She was a moderately religious muslim girl and she believed in god!! She was a girl of 22 years old;old enough to know so many unpleasant truths of this world but her naivety tricked her into believing that everyone kuwaiti believed in allah too, this new truth was appalling and unbelievable to her, she felt dizzy, sick, scandalized!! esta'3ferallah! esta'3ferallaah..

Before she had a chance to leave the store, to get over her shock, he looked up and smiled. Just her luck, she had to face the godless, fearless, ugly sinner.

Atheism meant one thing, this guy was going to hell.

I am one of those people who treasure solitude..., I appreciate being alone, doing all the things I love and get to know myself better...I believe that in solitude a person gets to know himself, make peace with himself and learn to love himself unconditionally..we all need a quiet time alone to examine our lives, dedicate our whole attention to ourselves and ourselves only. Sometimes life deprives me from this privilage and I can honestly say that it depresses me. I really do feel depressed when I spend all week around people, socializing, sleeping over at cousins and best friends houses, etc...I do NEED to spend at least a few hours alone one day a week to renew my mind and soul..., they say that people who cannot bear to be alone don't properly value themselves..

this post is dedicated for those of you who asked me to write about my weight loss secrets...well before I started this diet I was overweight!! like really really overweight y3ni I exceded my normal weight, I weighed 56.9 kgs :$ o mashallah since hal 9adma I lost about 6 kilos, now I weigh 51 kg, o enshallah I need 6 more to reach my ultimate goal! by the end of this week I need to lose 3 more l2na my cousin's reception is in the 26th y3ni next saturday o I wanna look my best!! so basically my diet consists of hard boiled eggs, tuna, veggies, fruits and coffee.

5al a36ekom example ;p: mathalan breakfast: 1 cup of black coffee with sweetner ( if u prefer) + lots of water and sugar free gum.

lunch: tuna salad or 2 hard boiled eggs with tomatoes and oregano.

dinner: special K cerials+ skim milk or asalad aw sa3at a5oorha o I have hot chocolate or a cup of skimmed mocha ( yes I love coffee so much sometimes I have coffee for dinner!)

6ab3an ana mu miltazma wayid, y3ni 3l mazaj sometimes I have a cupcake for lunch ;$ o coffee for dinner, I admit it's not healthy at all!

ee o al7een habatlikom eb acai berry products, I love the juices and the cleansing diet pills! I feel less bloated o my stomach mashallah 9ayra flatter o I feel more energized eb sibat'hom, bs lo allah efukna min el " free days" chan ana al7een size zero!!

from the moment I stepped into the store I knew you were checking me out. I pretended not to see you and I grew nervous trying to concentrate on reading the description in the tabelets, I obviously couldn't concetrate so I asked the expert, while he was explaining to me everything written on that bottle I was sweating min el5ar3a and I was obviously very nervous, as you witnesssed I was this close to spilling the coffee on my shirt, and when I sipped my coffee, I saw you grinning and staring like an idiot while I was telling the indian salesman about my diet and how I desperately wanted to lose more weight in a short time. You see I wasn't offended when you joked about the way I held my cup of coffee in my "left" hand and the rest of the many shopping bags in my "right" , you obviously thought that it was better if I drank my coffee while I held the cup in my "right", it was an unecessary, confusing joke and I was very embarrased and nervous that I looked offended and left the store without giving you another look.

the thing is I think I kinda, sorta, maybe have developed some strong feelings for those gorgeous dimples of yours that I'm close to tears right this very minute and feel like smashing my own head with an axe.

starting finals next week. I wandered the streets of london aimlessly, tears streaming down my face, thank god there weren't many khaleegis left.. it was mostly english people who simply didn't care. I remember heading to my favorite street, with a fake hope that the pain in my chest would go away and the tears would finally dry. it was past 10 pm, not many people were around...that purple sweater looked horrible on me with the black studded boots, a walking disaster, yet I didn't care. I couldn't stand a minute in this town, I wanted to go back home so bad! to be in the familiarity and comfort of my bedroom. my beautiful kuwaiti bedroom. but I had to wait for another 2 days. "galbi wayid maqmoot, its such a sad day! o I miss u, cant wait to get back x" I texted one of the girls.

the next minute I was sitting on a porch, reading "do3a2 el 9alat 3la el mayyit" from google. and crying. a girl died, someone was diagnosed with cancer, a boy commited suicide...the list of shitty things were endless and I found myself greiving. I really wanted to go back.

you wake up to the sound of loud vibrating, you turn around, upset and too sick to shush the source, your phone lying there next to you, blinking, announcing a message. you find out the noise is coming from your phone. you unlock it, check the message and emmedietly your heart warms up and you're no longer upset. you feel so happy and slightly sad at the same time, you miss the person so much, the message makes your day and suddenly you dont want to sleep anymore. you glance at your phone's clock, 4:11 am. you realize how early it is, you still dont want to sleep. you cough and sneeze repeatedly and head your way to the bathroom, you wash up and come back to your bedroom, you're very sick yet you don't want to lay down. you put on an over sized sweater, skip coffee for the first time in your life and have an OJ instead, and get ready to head out...your mother wakes up and surprised to see lights coming from your room, she holds the mub5ar and a cup of coffee in both hands, you tell her you woke up and you want to go out for coffee before your 8 am class, she argues with you, "its cold, you're sick and you dont need to attend", you insint on attending for the first time in your life...she gives up and etba5ir your room, your clothes and hair. you spray chanel no.5 mixed with the bu5oor, you think you smell perfect.

you drive the empty streets of kuwait, nobody is around, it's too early for anyone to go to school/uni/work anyway.. you listen to bo noora's soothing voice and enjoy the chilly quiet morning..

you reach starbucks free trade zone, you order grande caramel flavored hot chocolate (again skipping coffee) to go and head back to your car, you park in the most beautiful spot. you stop your engine, you step out of your car and walk all the way to the beach..it's cold, you shiver, your bones hurt yet you continue walking, the warm hot chocolate between your hands, you take a sip and close your eyes to meditate..something you've been doing for a while now..,you reach mindfullness...inhale...exhale...

you finish your hot coco and realize that's time you attend class, you're surprised that it's still early for class, you head to uni anyway

you attend class, you fall asleep in class, you dream of paris, your best friend wakes you, you leave uni feeling even sicker and exhausted, you curse yourself and drive all the way home barely keeping your eyes open.

you spend your whole day and night in bed, only to be finally wide awake at 3:30 am, hungry and bored and too tired to perform any activity other than your dear old laptop.

it's 6 am. you're still very hungry, your mother wakes up, brings you a cup of coffee and the usual mub5ar, you contemplate whether or not to attend 10 am class...you decide you'll wait laih 7azzat el 7azza.
